Slice 2 fresh lemons into thin rounds and place them inside the electric kettle. Add clean water until limescale buildup on the heating element is submerged.
Turn on the kettle and bring the lemon solution to a rolling boil. Once automatically switched off, let the hot liquid sit undisturbed for 20-30 minutes so natural citric acid dissolves mineral crusts.
After soaking for 30 minutes, switch the kettle on to boil the solution one more time for maximum descaling efficiency.
Pour out the boiled lemon water. Wipe away loosened residue with a soft sponge, then rinse the kettle inside 2-3 times with fresh water. The base will shine like brand new!
